In 2010 the parish of Mullavilly in Co. Armagh celebrated the 200th anniversary of the consecration of its church. Mullavilly: Portrait of an Ulster Parish tells the story of these two hundred years.
This portrayal of Irish country life echoes with the voices of clergymen, aristocrats, farmers and magistrates. It provides insights into the events that shaped a nation, from the perspective of those who lived through them.
The book documents many aspects of rural and industrial life that have now passed away and provides a valuable record of the changing place, and unchanging purpose, of a Church of Ireland parish in the society it serves.
